his project was initiated in response to the University College of Cape Breton’s need for a comprehensive, master-signage program. The variety of building types and construction eras had resulted in a confusing, ineffective, and antiquated array of signage systems throughout UCCB’s campus.

Trifos Design Consultants mandate was to design a distinctive, consistent, and professional, graphic-signage system for implementation throughout the interior and exterior of the campus.

The exterior signage defines and reinforces the different buildings through color coding, and use of UCCB’s traditional colours, emblems, and lettering fonts. The interior signage system reinforces the color-coding methodology, and incorporates modification flexibility by allowing for uncomplicated maintenance and updating by in-house personnel.
