rifos Design Consultants was commissioned to create a building design prototype for a commercial, IT office park, to be located adjacent to an existing university campus. The proposed neoclassic design metaphor was derived from that of numerous campus buildings located on the adjacent site. A corner site established the visual, focal point for the building and its main entrance.
The corner, which mediates the two side facades, is emphatically square at the upper-level projection, while the lower portion is a retracted glass cylinder. The square edge, the circle, and the turning of a corner, allow for an expressive termination of the side facades, and creates a dynamic entry experience.
